Joypad is a downloadable file that allows you to turn your iPhone into a game controller for your PC or Mac. By installing the Joypad app on your iPhone and the desktop client on your computer, you can connect both devices to the same WiFi network and start using your iPhone as a wireless controller.
The Joypad desktop client should automatically detect your iPhone if the app is running, but you can manually enter the MAC address of your phone in the settings if needed. Once the connection is established, indicated by a green light, you can start using Joypad.
The lite version of Joypad comes with a single 'pad' based on the old Nintendo Entertainment System, but you can upgrade to access a variety of more modern joypads. Each button on the joypad can be configured to correspond to a specific key, and you can save different configurations for convenience.
While touch joypads may not provide the same experience as physical controllers, Joypad performs well. It is particularly effective for playing flash arcade games and old games through emulators. However, it is important to have a stable WiFi connection to avoid lag issues. It is worth noting that Joypad does not support Bluetooth connectivity, despite iPhones and Macs having this capability.
